HELLO!

I Am Zina MIchelle

My art is based on an intuitive, soulful approach that allows the paintings to come to life through the weaving of energy, emotion and the healing frequencies of colors onto a blank canvas. The freedom and individuality of abstract art always amazes me as my compositions come together to create unique yet universal pieces that allows the viewer to explore the often ambiguous, yet complex mysteries of life. I believe that art is not only a creative expression but also a language that connects, empowers and enlightens our souls.

Bio

Senior Manager of a PMO by day, Zina Michelle is a self-taught, intuitive abstract artist and workshop facilitator.  A meditation guide and Theta Healing practitioner with degrees in Human Resources, Business Administration and two in Accounting she began her artistic journey in 2003 and put her brush down in 2007.  She reconnected with her love of painting in 2019 and began selling and exhibiting her work at outdoor fairs and cafes.

A Central Virginia native, she has lived on both sides of the US and currently resides in a small town outside of Charlottesville, Virginia.  She has had a life-long interest in art and other creative works, such as wood working.

As an intuitive artist, meaning her paintings start out with no preconceived vision of what it must be, she follows her heart and soul rather than her head when painting.  Her inspiration comes from all avenues of her life and the experience that she shares with the world.  Her painting process is completely organic and spontaneous.  Using alcohol inks, pigments and acrylic paints she relies on her intuition to guide her on what tools, paints and techniques to use.  The paintings intuitively emerge to life in a form all their own as she pours her souls’ energy into each brush stroke or fluid pour creating a highly personal and unique piece.

Wanting everyone to creatively express themselves she offers individual and group workshops in fluid painting.  She spends her free time in her garden, reading or snuggling up to her husband Joe and their 5 pups.
